Abstract

In this study, eggs of Schizothorax Zarudnyi were treatment by methanol Sumac extract as antifungal agent during the incubation period of eggs and its effects were compared with malachite green. For this purpose 24 hours after fertilization, methanol sumac extract were used at four treatments (500, 750, 1000, 1250 mg/L) as static bath for 20 min every 12 h, and malachite green with concentration of 0.1 mg/L and control (no sumac or malachite treatment) groups were used as static bath for 6 min two times every day. The results showed that no significant differences in fungal, fertilization and survival rate were found among treated and untreated eggs (P>0.05). Since no apparent deformities and abnormalities were observed in hatched larvae, suggested sumac extract as an environmental friendly matter at 500 mg/L concentration can be effective for disinfection of S. zarudnyi eggs during incubation period under the conditions of this study.
