Abstract

The aim of this study was investigated the effect of vitamin C supplementation and copper nanoparticles dietary on growth indices, blood parameters, antioxidant activity enzymes and histology of rainbow trout. Thus, 270 juveniles of rainbow trout with average weight 15.06±1.06 gr were fed a diet containing three levels of vitamin C (0, 800 and 1200 mg/kg diet) and copper nanoparticles at two levels (0 and 2 mg/kg diet) for 60 days and daily feeding two times base on 3% body weight. Results showed that there were significant differences between treatment groups with control group such as feed conversion ratio, weight gain percentage, protein efficiency ratio and specific growth rate (p<0.05). There was also a significant difference in the hematology factors between the treatment groups and the control (p<0.05). The activity level of GPX and CAT enzymes showed a significant difference between the treatment groups in compared with the control group (p<0.05). The fish treated with diet containing of 800 mg vitamin C + 2 mg copper nanoparticles /kg food showed the highest amount of GPX (733.33±51.01) and CAT (145±11.26) activity enzyme and the control treatment had the lowest amount of GPX (680.66±52.16) and CAT (115.67±12.85) activity enzyme, but no significant difference was observed in MDA enzyme levels between treatment groups. Among of gill, intestine, liver, and kidney tissue sections, tissue samples of fishes in the control group, 800 mg vitamin C/kg food group and 1200 mg vitamin C/kg food group were healthy. Intestinal tissue in the fish were fed with 1 mg vitamin C + 1 mg copper nanoparticles/kg food showed an increase in the number, height and thickness of intestinal villi. All of the tissues were damaged in fish were fed with 2 mg copper nanoparticle/kg food. Finally, the results of this study show that adding 2 mg copper nanoparticles + 800 mg vitamin C/kg diet has a positive interaction effect without causing tissue damage and improves growth indices, blood factors and oxidative stress response and can reduce production costs. Thus it provide more profitability for growers.
