Abstract

Esophageal cancer has a variable prevalence and distribution in comparison to other kinds of cancers. Prevalence of esophageal cancer in Iran was is wide. Genetic factors especially Oncogenes are effective in creating and developing cancer in tissues. Also CYP1A1 gene (cytochrome P450, family 1, sub family A, poly peptide 1) is one of effective cytochrome 450 families in esophageal cancer. Therefore this research tries to evaluate CYP1A1 in patients. In this project it has collected 15 paraffin samples of esophageal patients and 15 paraffin samples of healthy person from 1384 to 1392 and by using Real- time PCR technique the amount of CYP1A1 in esophageal cancer studied. All analyzes has done by soft wares such as SPSS, Inc, Chicago and IL. The results showed less CYP1A1 gene in patient group and this decrease was meaningful in comparison to healthy group (p<0/05) and there is no meaningful difference between men and women in this gene. According to law samples and small population it has suggested that this research can perform with more samples and in other ethnicities for gathering statistics.
