Abstract

One of the approaches of traditional and modern story writing is the introduction of popular culture, including dialect, local customs, terms, proverbs, and beliefs in the structure of the story. The reason for this can be considered the entry of fictional literature into the lives of ordinary people and rising from the heart of society and the concerns of common people, which inevitably mixes fictional literature with folk culture. In the meantime, Abbas is a famous contemporary story writer who seems to have paid attention to this category in his fiction works. Considering the impact of society and its issues on literature, in this research, which was done with the aim of knowing the society reflected in the fictional works of Abbas Maroufi and with a descriptive analytical method, an attempt was made to find out how the elements of popular culture and literature are used in the contemporary author's fictional works. Abbas Maroufi should be evaluated and analyzed. The analysis of these works of fiction shows that the use of elements of popular culture and literature in the works of this author has a special place. These elements of popular culture and literature have greatly contributed to the richness of his fictional works and making the stories concrete and understandable for the audience.
