Abstract

This experiment was conducted to determine of nutritive value, chemical composition and digestibility of six species of forage plants in Sistan region such as Alhagi persarum, Plantago lanceolata, Plantago psyllium, Artemisia Biennis Wild, Convolvulus arvensis, Sonchus oleraceus. Chemical composition of plant samples after collecting and grinding according to the standard methods to determined for: Dry matter (DM), Organic matter (OM), Ash, Crude protein (CP), Ether extract (EE), Neutral detergent fiber (NDF), Acid detergent fiber (ADF) and Water soluble carbohydrates (WSC). Measuring degradability and digestibility percent of dry matter in samples with the help of three Baluchi male lambs was conducted by nylon bag and gas test production manner. The results showed that in Convolvulus arvensis CP was highest but NDF and ADF was lowest and Plantago psyllium CP was lowest but NDF and ADF was highest and their differences were significant (P < 0/.05). In this study degradability of experimental plants in different incubation times showed significantly differences (P<0/.05) and Sonchus oleraceus had highest and Plantago psyllium had lowest degradability percent. The results of gas production volume through experimental plants in different incubation times showed that Sonchus oleraceus and Plantago psyllium had highest and lowest volume of production gas and digestibility in all of incubation times respectively. With considering all of obtain results from experimental plants about chemical composition, degradability and digestibility of them we found that all of them having suitable feed value for native animals (particularly sheep and goat) but nutritive value of them is different. Finally we found that Sonchus oleraceus, Convolvulus arvensis, Plantago lanceolata, Artemisia Biennis Wild, Alhagi persarum and Plantago psyllium in case of nutritive value having best chemical composition and digestibility respectively. So, this plants for local animals benefit and nutrition value of them is suitable, therefore we can recommend them for providing part of roughage requirements in animal's diets.
