Abstract

Health is one of the basic human rights and all people should have access to it to provide the resources they need for their health. Public access to basic health services is one of the indicators of health. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the family physician plan to improve the health of the rural community in Sistan. The present study was a descriptive-analytical study with a combination of methods based on library, documentary, field and questionnaire studies. The statistical population of the present study included 28 villages living in Zahak, Nimroz, Hamoon, Helmand and Zabol. The sample population was calculated based on the Cochran's formula of 310 households, which was selected by a simple random method and in proportion to the frequency of households living in each village. Also, for data analysis, TOPSIS multicriteria decision model and Excel, Expert choice, ArcGIS, SPSS and Chi-square statistical tests were used. The results show that the implementation of the family doctor plan in Sistan region has significantly changed the access of rural communities to health services. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the family doctor plan in rural areas of Sistan has been very effective.
