Abstract
Lingatotola serata is a zoonotic parasite that lives mainly in the respiratory tract and in the larval stages of herbivorous organisms. In this study, the prevalence of Lingatola Serata parasite in liver and lung organs of 400 domestic ruminants (sheep and goats) in different ages, sexes and seasons in Bam Industrial Slaughterhouse and Eastern Cities of Kerman Province (Reagan, Normashir and Fahraj) was studied. Liver and lung samples were first evaluated microscopically. The samples were then tested by tissue digestion. The rate of liver and lung contamination with this parasite in sheep was 6. 8% and 4. 9%, respectively, and in the case of the studied goats, it was 16. 4% and 21. 6%, respectively. The results of this study did not show any significant difference in the rate of infection with Lingatola nuche in different sexes and ages. In this study, the prevalence of sheep and goat infestation in Lingogatola Serata was 43. 7% in winter and 18. 9% in summer.
