Abstract
Creating appropriate physical space platforms for all social segments to take advantage of public services and facilities for the purpose of better mobility of people and their easier urban access and greater development of community is essential. People with physical disabilities and veterans are part of the community who, like other people, are in need of access and use of public facilities and services, yet there are no proper measures to fit the passages which are among the most important urban utilities for the disabled and the poor. The purpose of this study was to measure and assess the desirability of passages with an emphasis on transportation of disabled people in the streets of central district of Zabol from the viewpoint of the experts, the disabled, and the low-income. The information required in this research was collected via field observations and a questionnaire collected. To process data, several statistical software, especially GIS, and multi-criteria decision making model was also used to measure and rank the indicators and groups. The findings of this study indicate that 75% of the experts considered the status of the passage inappropriate. Moreover, according to the disabled viewpoint, the inappropriate condition of the stairs and lack of slopes (ramps) in the spaces of entry and inappropriateness of the pavements had the highest rate of dissatisfaction. By examining the existing situation with the current standard per capita of urban planning standard, it shows that in the streets of the central part of Zabol, no compliance has been considered.
