Abstract
Ajowan (Carum Copticum), annual Herband a member of the Apiaceae family, is used in traditional medicine in treatment of angina, expulsion of kidney stones, asthma, rheumatism, influenza, also strong antiseptic and strengthening digestive. Ajowan is important, because it is compounds in the essential oils. The main constituents of the essential oil of Ajowan are Thymol, Trpnyn, Flandren, Pnyn group, seaman group and Myrsn noted that the family would be phenol. Terpenoids largest family of natural compounds, containing forty thousand different molecules that are created as the scent of essential oils in plants, improve the flavor of food and beverages of plant origin are used to produce drugs. Specifically in order to attract insects for pollination of many plants and some animals to ward off herbivores or pests, produce Terpenes. Producing Terpenes of the Mevalonate pathway (MVA), which is active in the Cytosol is derived or Erythritol methyl- 4- phosphate (MEP) pathway in plastid passes. Many factors affected on synthesis of Terpene and the resulting plants Phenolics, these factors include age, growth regulator concentration, stresses such as herbicides, damaged tissues, duration of exposure, radiation UV, temperature, etc. Jasmonic acid and Gibberllic acid as a growth regulator play a different role in plants growth. In the present study, the effect of Gibberellic acid and Jasmonic acid on TPS gene expression of Ajowan was evaluated and relation between gene expression and TPS activity in leaf and stem tissues was studied. This experiment was performed in BioCenter of Zabol University in autumn 2013. The experiment was randomized block design complete with three replications. The plants were treated by Gibberellic acid concentration 8ppm and 80ppm, Jasmonic acid concentration 1mM and 100μM at 4-laef stage for a week. TPS gene expression was assayed by Real Time PCR. Analysis of variance using SAS software and comparison of treatment means was performed using Duncan’s test at 5% probability level. The results showed a concentration of 1mM Jasmonic acid had a significant effect on Terpene syntheses gene expression, also in both treatments by acids, TPS gene expression in leave was more than stem
