Abstract
Strong winds (120-days wind in Sistan), results in sand and dust movement in Sistan region. When the behaviors and mechanism of natural phenomena especially sand-dust storms are identified in accordance to the physical plans in a region the results are physical, economic and social benefits for the residents of the region. The present study were conducted with the aim of finding a problem, typology of the physical issues of rural settlements and comparative comparison between local patterns to combat sanddust storms. Initially, a wide study has been done to determine a wide range of indicators and then the status of each village was examined base on field study (completing questionnaires). The results were analyzed by using hierarchical analytic model and SPSS. Results show that the resident of the two villages can help in prioritizing issues and dealing with the problems because of understanding the living conditions in these villages. Therefore, the issues and problems of the behaviors and mechanism of rural settlements can be categorized and prioritized using problem tree.
