Abstract
In order to study the effects of salicilic acid pretreatment on germination percentage and early growth of ajwain an experiment was conducted during 2013 at Zabol University laboratory. Treatments were salicylic acid pretreatments including four concentrations of 0, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 mM and four salt potential including 0, 50, 100 and 150 percent which applied at three replications. Results indicated that silicic acid and salinity influenced significantly all studied traits. In addition seedling vigor improvement was apparent and treated seedlings were less influenced. However at these treatments salinity had fewer effects on evaluated parameters. The results suggested that salicylic acid and salinity had great influence on germination and early seedling growth of ajwain.
