Abstract
Incident is one of the most important structural elements in novels، anecdotes and stories. This element plays a key role in forming the plot and advance meant of the story. Incident is an element in company with other elements which make the story complicated, such as climax، crisis ، worry، scare and conflicts. It composts the basic body of the plot among the story elements. The timely and proper use of incident element causes that addressee read the novel with great eager and ample enthusiasm. Otherwise, absence of incident element in story and improperly manipulating it، give rise to a dull and prosaic story. When the story is dull, the reader may not continue reading. In this descriptive-analytic paper, we examine the incident element in three novels. Those novels are as follows: "Nice chameleon" written by M.R Kateb, "A butterfly on the comb" written by B. Naseh, and "The victim of favorable wind" written by M. Tolouie. In this research, we concluded that the presence of incident element in "Nice chameleon" novel was more prominent and dramatic than the incident element in "A butterfly on the comb" novel and "The victim of favorable wind" novel. The presence of severity and roughness tools in "Nice chameleon" novel has made it similar to police novels.
