Abstract

Halilroud River is the largest river in Kerman province that flows from Lalezar Mountain around Baft city. This river is the main water source for Jiroft and Kahnuj plains and it has flood regime. Jiroft multipurpose dam that was built on the Halilroud River has an important role in flood control. This dam always has been faced with massive flood from beginning. This study evaluates the efficiency of different methods to estimate and predict the output hydrographs in Jiroft dam reservoir and Halilroud River. First two stations were selected in the interest section and input flood routing were done in Jiroft dam and Halilroud River routing. For this purpose the Pulls method for input flood routing to dam and Muskingum method for routing in Halilroud River were used. Finally, hydrographs that obtained from hydrological methods were compared with flood observed hydrographs using RMSE and Nash-sutcliff coefficient. The results showed that Pulls and Muskingum hydrological methods have suitable efficiency for reservoir and river flood routing.
