Abstract

In recent years, many cities in Iran especially outskirts areas of cities are affected by the process of urbanization and the needs of citizens to new housing and land use change. With attention to this fact, Uremia city like other cities of Iran have been faced with increasing of population and we are seeing significant changes in the urban land use of city. The present study sought to evaluate changes in marginal lands during the years 1989 to 2013 in Uremia and then to predict the changes in 2035. Therefore, to understand the changes occurring in the region of the image sensor TM, ETM+ and Lands at OLI from the years 1989, 1995, 2002 and 2013 were analyzed. After enhancement operation for detecting changes in the evaluation of supervised classification with artificial neural networks (ANN) and compares the classification (Crosstab) is used. Also expected to change in 2035 from the combination of Markov chains and cellular automata (CA Markov) is applied. Obtained data’s shows that Uremia urban growth causes to the loss of agricultural lands and gardens of the city and becoming it to residential functions.
