Abstract
This research was designed and implemented with the aim of investigating the possible effects of phenolic compounds on growth efficiency, carcass traits, immune system and digestive tract microbiota and identifying the effective mechanisms in broiler chickens. For this purpose, 120 day-old chicks of Ras 308 strain were divided into four groups of three and bred individually. All birds received the same basic diet (from 1 to 42 days old), but different levels of phenolic compounds, including pomegranate peel extract (1%), kohoruk fruit extract (1%) and bitter gourd (0.5% kohoruk extract + 0.5% pomegranate peel extract). they did The results showed that the feed consumption in the initial period in the experimental groups was affected by pomegranate peel extract and rattle fruit (p<0.05). The conversion factor was affected by the experimental treatments in the third and fourth weeks (p<0.05). In the fifth and sixth weeks of breeding, the combined treatment caused a significant increase in the conversion factor compared to the control (p<0.05). The relative proliferation of some organs (heart, calculus, visceral fat, liver) was significant (p<0.05) and not significant in others (p<0.05). In addition, the use of pomegranate peel and rattle fruit extract had a significant effect on the relative weight of the immune organs (bursa, spleen, pancreas, bile, thymus, prestomach) (p<0.05). The treatments used on carcass quality were not significant (P<0.05). But the concentration of malondialdehyde was strongly affected in some organs and intestines, which mainly include brain, liver, pancreas, bursa and thigh (p<0.05). The effect of the studied treatments on serum indices including (triglyceride, albumin, total protein, liver and antioxidant enzymes) was significant (p<0.05). The effect of experimental treatments on immune parameters including antibody titer against Newcastle vaccine and SRBC was significant (p<0.05). Pomegranate skin extract and mesquite fruit independently and in combination caused a significant increase in serum IGG immunoglobulins (p<0.05), but this effect on IGM immunoglobulin was not significant (p<0.05). Pomegranate peel extract and mesquite fruit independently and in combination have reduced harmful bacteria in cecum and genome (p<0.05). The results of the study showed that the use of phenolic compounds not only improves the immune parameters and flora of the digestive system compared to the control, but the combined effects in some cases such as growth performance and feed consumption had better effects compared to individual groups.
