Abstract

Rangeland is any land under perennial forages. It is about 52 percent of the Iran’s total land area and 83 percent of the total of natural resources of the Kashmar. Rangeland ecosystem provides an array of benefits to human that most of them are not generally accounted for in market transaction and often been overlooked. The value of rangeland is important for assessing economics of range improvements, grazing system and alternative land uses. The main objective of this study is to identify and economic valuation of the goods and services of rangeland’s Kashmar. The market price, replacement cost method, defensive expenditure method and benefit transfer technique are used in this study. According to the finding: average value of annul rangeland in providing direct function is estimated to be 296543 and in providing indirect function is estimated to be 917960 Rials/he/y. the annual value of forage production, Medicinal resources, Soil retention, Water regulation, Soil formation, Nutrient cycling, Waste treatment respectively estimated to be 185*109, 8*109, 565*109, 177*106, 3672*106, 6*109 and 24*109 R/y. the real value can be used for licensing, Operation license and fee from pasture grazed by livestock.
