Abstract

Metal-organic frameworks are a new class of porous crystalline materials that have attracted the attention of many researchers due to their distinctive features such as high porosity, high surface area, low density, and the ability to adjust the structure and property. Research has shown that the hybridzation of metal-organic frameworks with metals or perovskites leads to the formation of new materials with enhanced stability and increased performance compared to the primary structures. The click reaction, 1-3-dipolar ring addition, is a very important reaction for the synthesis of 1,2,3-triazoles, which have wide chemical and biological activities. In this research work, for the first time, a lead-free and cheap copper halide perovskite was grown into the cerium-based metal-organic framework UiO-66-NH2 to afford UiO-66(Ce)-NH2/CsCu2I3 hybrid. The material was then characterized with various techniques. After that, this new composite was investigated as an efficient catalyst for the green synthesis of triazole derivatives through the three-component reaction of sodium azide, benzyl halide and alkynes. This method has advantages such as short reaction time, high product yiled, easy purification and the use of water as solvent. Notably, this catalyst can be recycled and reused effectively for several times with high catalytic reactivity.
