Considering that the past is the light of the future, this use of the light of history also applies to the science of architecture, and many architect researchers are trying to create architectural buildings that are compatible with the environment and authentic in terms of identity and pay cultural Typology in architecture is one of the important and necessary topics in architectural history studies. Thinkers such as Doran, Colquhoun, Stedman and Walter Gropius have addressed it and this thesis deals with this principle of architecture by examining the monuments in the land of Azerbaijan in the northwest of Iran. A land that is the birthplace of Azeri, Persian and Esfahani architectural styles, and this geography itself and Azeri (Azerbaijani) architectural styles, like Khorasani and Persian styles, has many native and local schools and styles. Among these styles, we can mention the styles of Tabriz, Maragheh-Nakhchivan and Qazvin-Hamadan, which have had the greatest impact on the architecture of monuments in Azerbaijan. The analyzes show that the memorial is not just a tomb and there are four types of monuments in Azerbaijan which are included in these groups: 1- museum memorial, 2- tomb memorial, 3- religious memorial and 4- aesthetic memorial. According to these interpretations, the purpose of this research, after explaining and defining the principle of typology in architecture, defining the monument and monument and recognizing the architectural school of Azerbaijan, with the "fundamental" research method and using the interpretative-historical method and collection tools.
