Abstract
Early theories of sociological critique have been supplemented in recent times by critics including George Lukacs and Lucien Goldman. Lucien Goldman; The eminent French critic examines a literary work sociologically with the interaction of structure and content. He believes that the literary work is born of society and is influenced by the fact that with its literary structure and content, it is able to show the good and bad conditions of Adib society with the creative world of Adib to the reader. Thus, Goldmann's theory of formative structuralism is able to acknowledge that Adib, with the help of the community created within his work, seeks to introduce his reformist views to readers outside of his text and to awaken social awareness and unity among the people of his community. So that Adib deals with the purposeful content of the literary structure and format in the text. Ahmed Awni is one of the contemporary Egyptian writers who, in his novel Jawaz lel-Abtal, criticizes the situation of his unorganized society in a literary form in order to promote group unity for the utopia. Accordingly, the present study considered it necessary to use a descriptive-analytical method to evaluate the novel Prizes for Invalidity sociologically based on Lucien Goldman's developmental theory. Preliminary results indicate that the author has been able to address the social issues of his society through historical issues, and that the sociological study of the novel from the perspective of Lucien Goldman's three rules is possible. While the author's awareness can be found in comparison with other three rules of Lucien Goldman, which has been used in the direction of social affairs and issues based on developmental structuralism.
