Abstract
Our country, as a developing country, has been discussing sustainable development in recent decades in policy-making. But we have not yet achieved sustainable development and a significant inequality can be seen in the regions of the country, including the city of Zabol. Therefore, the concepts of sustainable development and its indicators is one of the main concerns of the researcher about the future of sustainable development and its indicators for the city of Zabol. Accordingly, this study was conducted with the aim of evaluating indicators of sustainable urban development with a futures research approach. In order to identify and prioritize the most important influential indicators in the future of Zabol city, first the indicators of sustainable urban development were identified and after initial analysis in EXCEL software, the Delphi model was used. And to determine the most important propulsive forces, the method of cross-impact analysis in MICMAC software has been used. And using Schwartz screenwriting, scenarios related to sustainable urban development were identified by looking at the future of Zabol city. Research results show. That the development of any city needs to identify its current situation, by researching and identifying the current situation and identifying possible problems and shortcomings (results obtained from the analysis) can be a correct understanding of the facts (strengths and weaknesses) Available receipts. Despite all the deprivations and shortcomings, with a proper planning for the sustainable development of Zabol city through the use of regional capacities and the location of Zabol city in the border area, it is possible with a correct and efficient transportation system that includes urban land use issues. The network of roads, public transportation, etc., led to sustainable urban development and the improvement of the current situation in Zabol, along with moving towards sustainable development.
