Abstract

In this study, the identification of the family Pteromalidae fauna was investigated in Eastern of Iran. The Pteromalidae family is a large and important group of parasitoid wasps belonging to Chalcidoidea, which plays an important role in control the population of agricultural pests. Sampling in different climates including natural and agricultural habitats in the eastern provinces of Iran (North Khorasan, Khorasan Razavi, southern Khorasan, Sistan and Baluchestan) was performed using sampling tools including sweeping nets and Malaise trap. The collected samples were prepared using the AXA standard method. The identification of species based on diagnosis morphological characteristics was used by valid identification keys and original descriptions. A total of 41 species belonging to 24 genera and 6 subfamilies were collected, of which 8 genera Harrizia Delucchi, 1962; Ischyrortyx Delucchi, 1956; Netomocera Bouček, 1954; Novitzkyanus Bouček, 1961; Psilocera Walker, 1833; Sedma Bouček, 1991; Stinoplus Thomson, 1878; Susteraia Bouček, 1972 and 13 species Colotrechnus subcoeruleus Thomson, 1878; Harrizia Mira Delucchi, 1962; Dinarmus altifrons (Walker, 1862); Homoporus pulchripes Erdös, 1953; Ischyroptyx ligusticus (Masi, 1922); Novitzkyanus cryptogaster Bouček, 1961; Psilocera obscura Walker, 1833; Sedma dispar Bouček, 1991; Stenoselma asiaticum Dzhanokmen and Herthevtzian, 1990; Stinoplus etearchus (Walker, 1848); Susteraia acerina Bouček, 1972; Syntomopus incurvus Walker, 1833 and Spalangia impuncta Howard, 1897 new reports for the fauna of Iran, also 5 species Oodera Punctata Rahmani sp.nov. from the cleonyminae subfamily; Norbanus brevispicula Rahmani sp.nov.; Norbanus densipilosus Rahmani sp.nov.; Norbanus brachymarginalis Rahmani sp.nov.; Norbanus flavitibialis Rahmani sp.nov. from the subfamily Pteromalinae were described for the first time for the world of science.
