Abstract
A verb is a word that signifies the occurrence of something or "the occurrence of a situation or the citation of something. The verb has many uses, both in the texts of poetry and prose texts. The verb can be examined from different aspects: grammar, aesthetics (rhetoric), etc. Also, the correct use of verbs, especially in prose texts, can greatly contribute to their beauty and accessibility. Regardless of the style of any writer or poet, the correct use of words plays an important role in accepting their works from the audience's point of view. One of these words is the verb and since it is the main component of most sentences, it has an undeniable role in the eloquence of various works. In this descriptive-analytical study, attempt has been made to examine the verbs of the book "Kelileh and Demneh" which is technical prose. In this study, objectives such as grammatical and rhetorical study of verbs in this book, determining the use of abandoned and modern verbs, were considered. The result of this research indicates that many current expressions have been used in Kelileh and Demneh and many verbs are used in different meanings.
