Abstract
Nowadays, destructing factors of natural resources is growing increasingly so that the alarm sound of destruction of natural resources is heard all over the world. Therefore, paying attention to environmental protection in human life is one of the most important problems that today world faces with it. Therefore, in order to prevent the destruction of natural resources, participation of human society is required in all aspects. This study was conducted to estimate the social participation willingness of local communities to protect the National Park of Khabr in Baft area. Since the National Park of Khabr is the most important national parks of South East in Iran, this area was considered as studied area and sample of 228 people were selected randomly as population of study in spring of 2015. The obtained data were used in two stages to estimate the willingness of people to pay using contingent valuation method and willingness of people to participate in protection of natural resources using Logit model. The results of estimation of the willingness of people to pay showed that the variables of gender, education, history of participation in promotion classes, participation in rural institutions, indigenous status of people, income, and offered price have significant and positive impact on the willingness of people in this regard. In addition, it was found that age has significant negative impact in this regard, and the mean of willingness of people to pay was found 182350 Rials per person. The results of the model estimating the willingness of people to participate showed that variables of education, age, and history of participation in previous projects, indigenous status of people, absence of an administrative organization, familiarity with the environment, environmental literacy, using trusted managers, and initial financial supports of government have significant and positive impact of willingness of people to participate. Finally, based on obtained results, some recommendations were provided to policy-making and participatory development
