Abstract

In order to study the effects of vermicompost and cow fertilizer on morphological traits in intercropping of Roselle with Bean, an experiment has been conducted as split plot in a randomized complete block design with three replications in 2016. The factors studied in this study include organic manure as the main plot in three levels of control, cow fertilizer and vermicompost and different levels of intercropping in five levels, 100% Roselle, 100% Bean, 50% Roselle + 50% Bean, 25% Roselle + 75% Bean and 75% Roselle + 25% Bean were as sub plot. The results of the means comparison showed that, the organic manure effects on stem diameter, biological yield, fresh and dry weight of sepals, chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll of Roselle was significant. As too, interaction effects of organic manure and intercropping on all traits studied except number of boll per plant and biological yield was significant. The highest economic yield (sepals) was obtained from vermicompost manure and 50% Roselle + 50% Bean treatment. Means comparison showed that the organic manure and intercropping on all traits studied in Bean was more significant effect. The highest economic yield in Bean was obtained from vermicompost manure and 25% Bean + 75% Roselle treatment. The results showed that, intercropping in Roselle and Bean, profitable than sole cropping because benefit and significantly interaction effects in use of environmental resources.
