Abstract
Ferdowsi's Shahnameh is the most tremendous epic of Iran, which is considered to be a document of honor and prestige of Iranians. This great epic, in addition to adults, has its own adherents among a wide range of children and teenagers, and has an impact on their existential character. In this research, in order to find out more and more about the effect of the stories of Shahnameh on children and teenagers, a descriptive-analytic method has been tried using Cooper's test to determine the effect of reading the epic stories of Shahnameh on the selfesteem of the boys and girls in a 360-member sample. Also, in this study, the effect of non-epic stories on self-esteem of the selected sample has been studied. The result of this study, showed the direct and positive impact of the epic stories of Shahnameh on the self-esteem of children and teenagers, especially in the group of boy students of all age groups, especially group C.
