Abstract
Our experience which accumulated for years shows that executive of developmental actions based only on economic approach and ignoring environmental, cultural, social effects is not impressive and good. So any developmental action in frame of plans and great projects has satisfying results but also can cause problems like social erosion, environmental destruction, conflict between people and government, social damages, violence in people’s legal rights, making social discrimination etc. accordingly with the entrance of industry, specially modern industry to the local communities causes changes in neighbor regions’ socio-economic structure. Subsequently, it is important to evaluate socio-economically any developmental project before and after its execution and understand negative and positive results and regional peculiarities in which the project is going to be done. The evident show that Aslouyeh has not any industrial unit in last decade before entrance of gas and petro chemistry industries. Life was normal, and there was no environmental pollution and other social damages and also people had good relationship with each other. With the arrival of industry in 1376 and growth of industry-related activities, the region underwent fundamental changes like changing in people’s economic life, changing in views toward life and increase in service and convenient facilities, changing of values, beliefs and increase in social damages. So the current study aims to investigate and evaluate socio-economic effects of the southern Pars refinery complex on the rural areas around it. Collection of needed data was via library studies, documentary and analytical references and filling questionnaire. Analysis of date was carried out using SPSS software and Spearman correlation coefficient was used to examine the hypothesis. The results show that increase in distance of rural areas with the southern Pars refinery complex reduces socioeconomic effects. In another words, the results showed that The distance between the socioeconomic and South Pars refinery complex than its surrounding villages, according to the Spearman correlation coefficient between the (- 0/692 , - 0/491) and the error is less than 0/01 percent, there is a significant negative relationship. And this can be claimed with 0.000 meaningfulness level. There is a meaningful accordance in the hypothesis
