Abstract
Family-friendly planning is based on the assumption that communities mostly emphasize family and this is not only to the benefit of family but also the entire urban population. Today, family-friendly cities have attracted attention of urban planners and authorities. Hence, the present study sought to comparatively analyze different neighborhoods in Sirjan city in terms of favorable indicators of family-friendly city. The present study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach based on library resources and field studies. The data were analyzed using geographic information system (GIS) and fuzzy logic (FUZZY). It seems that due to diverse spatial structure of Sirjan city and also dissatisfaction of citizens, neighborhoods of the city are different from each other in terms of satisfaction indices of family-friendly cities. Moreover, the necessary mechanisms for operationalizing standards of satisfaction in family-friendly cities in Sirjan exist, but they are not formed and implemented yet. According to one-sample ttest with a 99 percent confidence level and significance level of <0.05, a significant difference between citizens’ satisfaction indices of Sirjan city and urban planning of a family-friendly city was found. Furthermore, based on the findings of the study, the area of family-friendly zone is in Razmandegan neighborhood with 507,231 square meters, and Maki Abad neighborhood with 452,950 square meters, respectively. Overall, the results indicate that there is no significant relationship between citizens’ satisfaction indices and family-friendly planning in different areas of Sirjan city.
