Abstract
Increasing growth of urban population and lack of efficient rules, requirements and principles planning for appropriate and targeted organizing and distributor this population has created various problems of social, economic, and environmental and management in cities. Inability the horizontal development to solve these problems has been followed development of uncontrolled growth of cities, the cost of extra infrastructure equipment, municipal waste land, abandon the old urban tissue and the lack of proper respect for the urban per capita. The hand devote more per capita for residential use due to lack of appropriate urban density and compression and consequent lack of public and open spaces, user reckless sprawl in city and the high cost of transportation will require attention to smart growth strategy or mix growth in urban areas. The present study sought to examine smart growth strategy and its impact on Bojnourd urban development. In this situation study and measured urban development, changes in the implementation of smart growth and consistent with its principles, as well as its impact on social conditions-economic. Therefore in addition information collecting about the density and distribution, urban form, the purpose of the trips and the amount available, 323 questionnaires distribution and was analyzed in order to influence social- economic conditions on the development and smart growth impact to improve social-economic conditions in communities. Results of the study shows urban growth in Bojnourd with features of urban growth in smart growth with attention the rate of urban sprawl, density neighborhoods, the growth pattern, for unfair distribution and of course residents lack adequate access user is required to be in many different places. Dimensions of social-economic based indicating analysis on data from questionnaires shows reduce the economic costs and social activities in neighborhoods that have less distance with the principles of smart growth.
