Abstract
Aphids feed on plant sap, which causes weakness and physiological plant disorders, reduction of plant growth, direct damage as well as transmitting of plant pathogenic viruses. Family Aphididae (aphids) belong to the order Hemiptera and superfamily Aphidoidea. This family is allocated to the most important and greatest number of species. The survey was carried out from 1393 to 1394 in the city of Gorgan and its surrounding regions and a total of 19 species and 8 genera of Aphididae belonging to the Aphidiine subfamily were identified. Most species belong to the genus Aphis. Aphis craccivora (Koch, 1854), Aphis faba (Scopoli, 1763), Aphis gossypii (Glover, 1877), Myzus persicae (Sulzer, 1776), have the greatest host range between collected species. In this study, 9 species gathered from city of Gorgan for the first time; Also 8 new host plants identified from this area which are marked with an asterisk (*). In between species, Hyalopterus persikonus (Miller, Lozier and Foottit, 2008) was reported for the first time from Iran. The list of species collected are: Aphis craccivora (Koch, 1854), Aphis fabae (Scopoli, 1763), Aphis spiraecola (Patch, 1914), Aphis gossypii (Glover, 1877), Aphis pomi (De Geer, 1773), Aphis urticata (Gmelin, 1790), Aphis affinis (Del Guercio, 1911), Aphis nerii (Boye de Fonscolombe, 1841). Rhopalosiphum maidis (Fitch, 1856), Sitobion avenae (Fabricius, 1775), Brachyunguis harmalae (Das, 1918), Myzus persicae (Sulzer, 1776), Nasonovia ribisnigri (Mosley, 1841), Hyalopterus pruni (Geoffoy, 1762), Hyalopterus persikonus (Miller, Lozier and Foottit, 2008), Macrosiphum rosae (Linnaeus. 1758), Macrosiphoniella millefolii (De Geer, 1773), Macrosiphoniella sanborni (Gillette, 1908), Uroleucon sonchi (Linnaeus, 1767).
