Abstract
The presence of iconic historical figures of the late nineteenth century poets in contemporary Arabic poetry flourished, and use it to explain a poem, one of the finest examples of contemporary poets with their ancient heritage is connected. In fact, with this method poet, his poetry freed from the shadow of Romanticism and the escape from feelings surface and deepen the social implications, the work, and then give symbolic. Salahuddin Ayubi, the great Egyptian warrior including historical figures in contemporary Arabic poetry is symbolic presence. This research using descriptive and analytical methods to assess the quality of the character's symbolic presence in contemporary Arabic poetry of the three poets; Bayati, Darwish and Donghol paid. Studies have shown that Donghol, Job Slah¬Aldyn symbol of lost grandeur of Islamic lands; Bayati him a symbol of the savior and redeemer to the Arab-Darwish, considered a symbol of past glory and honor poets and the most important goal of employing symbolic character in the poems.
