Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the prevalence of leptospirosis in stray dogs and cattle Sistan region using molecular methods. Leptospirosis is a worldwide distributed zoonotic disease. To do this, sampling the blood of dogs and cows in the fall, winter and early spring were done in Sistan region. The samples were stored in the freezer until testing. The DNA extracted from the blood to perform polymerase chain reaction (PCR). DNA extraction and PCR reactions were performed and PCR products were analyzed on agarose gel electrophoresis and then were placed in the machine and the results were read. Stray dog population control and vaccination of livestock should be carried out and to determine the prevalence of leptospirosis in human population research carried out in the Sistan region.
