Abstract
Borzu-Nameh is an epic story attributed to Ata-ibn-Yaghub Known as Atāei Razi (died in 471 A.H) - a poet of the Ghaznavid Gurt. This epic poem narrates the story of Borzu-Son of Sohrab who comes to Iran from Turan and battles his grandfather Rostam without knowing him. Finally, following several battles, his descent is identified and he joins the army of Iranians. Analyzing factors and elements of a work such as Borzu-Nameh which is rather unknown helps better understand the structure and content of this work. Being carried out by analyzing elements of the story and better understanding this old poem, the present research tries to descriptively and analytically investigate elements of the story such as the plot, character and characterization, dialogue, time and setting, point of view, verisimilitude, subject, and theme in this poem. The results of the present research indicate that the most useful element that plays a significant role in this epic poem is dialogue, since in many cases dialogue extends the plot and the prominent method of the poet for characterization, and in many other cases leads to complications in the story and raising new events.
